Seating 600 and built for lectures and conferences, it occupies half of the building across three levels. When it opened it was fitted with every modern resource of its day, including a Gaumont projection lantern.

Six large crystal chandeliers by the Maison Baguès light the ceiling. Beyond the rich ornament of the coffered ceiling and the walls, the mounted canvases signed by Louis Tinayre depict life aboard the Prince’s oceanographic vessels.

Their scale is striking — more than 15 metres long and 3 to 5 metres high — and the painter’s gift for portraiture makes the crew members recognisable. On the right-hand side, a box was reserved for the Prince.

Ideal for conferences, symposia, general meetings, award ceremonies or screenings, the Grand Amphithéâtre offers a setting that is both prestigious and perfectly suited to large-scale events. Its tiered layout seats up to 486 participants in comfortable conditions.

The room is equipped with a large screen, an integrated audiovisual control room, professional sound reinforcement, high-definition projection and stage lighting suited to speeches and presentations. Immediately adjacent to the entrance hall, the cloakroom and the reception spaces, it makes it easy for participants to move around and to run networking sessions, breaks or cocktails alongside your event.
